At a very young age Joe Cascetta showed an interest in cooking. He noticed every detail his Nonna brought from Italy into their kitchen. Although his professional career took him into the financial world, he has always maintained his love for Italian cooking and sharing his memorable foods with family and friends. Finally Joe's life-long dream of opening a restaurant has come to fruition with OTTO STRADA. Born and raised in Hoboken, and now raising his own children in town, Joe is thrilled to share family traditions with his community. Like his Nonno used to say, “Francia o Spagna, basta ca se magna" - Whether in France or in Spain, as long as we eat!!
Nicholas Rutigliani, Owner
Nick Rutigliani attended the New York Restaurant School in Manhattan. As a culinary graduate he worked with Jean-Georges. He continued to work as a sous chef in restaurants in both Manhattan and New Jersey. Nick moved on to own and operated his first gourmet deli and catering business for more than 10 years. Customers particularly enjoyed Nick's homemade mozzarella and cured meats, an art he learned from his Nonno. Nick also grew up in Hoboken and he too is raising his family in town. His strong Italian background is what shaped his culinary vision today.
Connie Bednar, Owner
Connie Bednar has been in the service industry her entire life. She was a business owner for 25 years until she decided to move to Hoboken to be closer to her daughter. As a young girl Connie enjoyed making homemade sauces, jams and baking sweets with her family. Today she loves making those same recipes with her granddaughters.
